The Power Family

Vacation time.

Finally. It’s vacation time. Even though this was a bit of an unexpected vacation, it’s amazing how much anticipation built in just two short weeks.

It didn’t get off to the best start, however. Since we booked the trip so late, there weren’t a lot of flight options available. Well, there were, but it would have involved donating a testicle. That meant we were at the airport in Wichita at 5:30 this morning ready for takeoff.

In hindsight, I see the problem. I got too cocky. We stepped-up to the check-in counter and got upgraded to first class. I made it through security without being violated. The plane was even boarded and ready for takeoff 15 minutes early.

And then it happened. “Folks, I apologize. They upgraded the stall system software six months ago and it doesn't work. This happens to me at least three times a week. Maintenance is on their way.”

Long story short. We finally made it to Fort Lauderdale. Not as early as we wished, but we’re here. And happy.

We checked into the hotel. Grabbed a shot from the balcony. Walked along the beach. And stumbled into a basil martini that would make you wanna slap ya mamma.

We’ll blog a bit more during the trip. Well, as long as it doesn’t interfere with staring into the beautiful blue abyss.
